About

The Korean Association of Orthodontists (KAO) was established on May 28, 1959. 

The inaugural meeting was held by 10 founder members at the Severance Hospital and elected Dr. Gwi-Sun Kim the President and Dr. Han-Soo Lee the Secretary General. KAO was the first branch academy of dentistry in Korea. 

This reflected that Orthodontics had a higher demand and need for a specialty field in dentistry. Thereafter, seven other branch academies of dentistry were founded

  • <p>In 2017, the Annual Scientific Congress will be held on Oct 29th (Sunday) – 30th (Monday) in Gyeongju city, excluding Saturdays for the practitioners' convenience. </p><p>This will be the 50th Annual Scientific Congress of KAO, and the Congress Organizing Committee is ready to find out various improvements to encourage participation of all KAO members. </p><p>Since 1968, the Annual Scientific Congress has been grown up both in quality and in quantity, and there are many world-famous speakers in KAO. Most lectures in the congress are under simultaneous interpretation in English, Chinese, and Japanese. We will work harder to make KAO as a meeting of the world-wide orthodontists, just as AAO. We expect the cooperation and participation of the fellow members.<br></p>

  • <p>One of the biggest event of KAO would be the Annual Scientific Congress. </p><p>In 2016, because of the limited number of convention centers and recent reservation traffics, the 49th Annual Scientific Congress to be held on Oct 8th (Saturday) – 9th (Sunday) at COEX, Seoul, instead of the 1st week of November as usual. </p><p>Also we are planning a challenging change for the Annual Scientific Congress, reflecting opinions of local dental clinic practitioners.<br></p>
